Spring into Summer Arts and Craft Show Community-Led Events

On April 30th to May 1st, the Kinsmen Club of Sarnia, will be hosting a NEW event at Baxter Park the “Spring into Summer Arts and Craft Show”. The event will take place, Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Baxter Park is located off Lakeshore Road (official Address 1582 Colborne Rd) and was established as a city park in the late 1960’s. This site was once famed as the heart of summer fun in the Great Lakes region.

 

The Sarnia Kinsmen Club have been serving and building the Sarnia Community for over 90 years.” said Jack Struck, co-chair of the new event. “Much of our community involvement and philanthropy would not have been possible without collaboration. Over the years the Kinsmen have hosted many events, including the annual Ribfest, Canada Day Parade and Santa Claus Parade. We have raised over $1 million dollars for our community and supported many initiatives and we look forward to continuing our efforts and truly making a difference”.

Candidate Information Session Community Information Sessions and Open Houses

Municipal Clerks within the County of Lambton have jointly coordinated two information sessions for persons who may be interested in running for Council. These virtual sessions will take place on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 2:00pm and 6:00pm. Sessions can be accessed by Zoom and will last approximately two hours.

Strangway Summer Programming Seasonal & Registration Dates

Registration for the Summer Session opens Monday, May 16th. The Summer Session will run from Monday, May 30th to Friday, September 9th. The Strangway Community Centre will be closed Friday, July 1st, Monday, August 1st, and Monday, September 5th.

Sarnia Lambton Energy and Environment Summit Community Information Sessions and Open Houses

Registration is free to attend, but advanced registration is required.

The event will be capped at 100 people in-person. Attendees will be required to comply with all safety protocols necessary at the time of the event.

This event is meant to bring together citizens, stakeholders, and partners to solicit input to ensure that Sarnia-Lambton continues to lead and capture the benefits of being a community with a focus on energy and the environment.

The agenda for the morning event includes:

  • An introductory presentation to set the context for energy and environment up to now
  • A structured panel discussion with representatives from the energy and environment sectors
  • An opportunity to share ideas and perspective through facilitated breakout sessions with small table discussion

The City has engaged the service of Bryan Boyle, of Bryan Boyle & Associates, to facilitate the day’s event and prepare a report of the key themes discussed.

The report will be shared with the public following the event.

 

For those who are unable to join us at the event, we will be making a recording of the presentations available following the event along with an opportunity for input.
