The Women’s Interval Home of Sarnia Lambton Inc. is excited to host their first ever Break the Silence Fundraising and Awareness Event. This event aims to bring all community members together to Break the Silence against domestic and gender-based violence.
Our goal for this event is to bring together individuals, families, local businesses, as well as partner social services organizations to generate an important conversation surrounding domestic abuse and gender-based violence while reaching our fundraising goal of $40,000 and 300 walking participants. All funds raised allow us to continue offering emergency shelter and essential programming and services completely free of charge to abused women and children in our community. Together, we can create a safe and supported community where all voices are heard, and everyone lives free of abuse.
WHAT: A fundraising and awareness event where community members register to participate. On the day of the event, registered teams come together and participate in a 300m group walk to show their support of survivors of domestic violence, and their commitment to the prevention of domestic abuse and gender-based violence. Following the walk, this will be a family friendly day of live music, children’s activities and entertainment, food trucks, and local vendors and social service info tables.
