Enjoy a free outing for the family at Newton Park in North Sarnia on Sat. June 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Activities include four inflatables, fire truck, hotdogs, drinks popcorn and cotton candy. Sponsored by the Sarnia Lakeshore Optimist Club.

Tuesday, June 7 is Opening Night of the City’s annual, outdoor concert series, Sounds of Summer. Following tradition, opening night is known as Scottish Night, featuring several themed groups, including Failte, the Sarnia Legion Pipe Band, the Scottish Country Dancers, and the Neufeld Studio of Highland Dance.

Locals and visitors alike, especially those with families, have enjoyed Sarnia’s Kids Funfest since 1996. The event is a perfect example of community members coming together, dedicated to the healthy development of children. With the support of a volunteer committee, Kids Funfest features a variety of community groups and is geared to enhance children’s lives by providing them and their parents with the resources to find and take part in all the child and family-oriented services, clubs, and organizations in our community. Each year, participants can expect a new addition to the wide array of community groups. Math games, obstacle courses, story time, and much more, all community groups run unique interactive activities for participants to engage in, while learning more about what they have to offer. Kids Funfest is the spot to be!

This event has become a marque family-friendly event with an annual attendance of 15,000 . This 3 day event offers great food and live entertainment that has not only been enjoyed by our residents, but by visitors alike. The festival has become a signature event for Sarnia-Lambton
The event is free until 7 p.m. and will run as follows;

Since 1987, the “Boys’ Home Run” has been a feature of Bright’s Grove every Father’s Day. It has grown to include a 10k timed road race, a 5k timed run, a 5k walk, a 7k rollerblade, 7k, 20k and 40k bicycle rides, and free onsite fun for children 4 - 10 known as Jr. Adrenaline Trail. All participants get a free pancake and sausage breakfast and spectators are able to purchase a meal for a small cost.
